TPO – This institute is the result of a joint venture between Takatuf and Petrofac, with the aim to fill the gap of competent Omanis in the energy sector.
The institute’s focus is to offer vocational training programmes for national diploma graduates and technical diploma graduates, such as mechanical technicians; electricians; process operators and instrumentation technicians.
The facilities will be located in Muscat will accommodate a total of 300 students. The institute is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2017.
TPO will utilise state of the art technology and expertise to ensure it stands out from all current regional the energy sector technical training facilities and become a benchmark for training excellence. It will hold international accreditations and will be a strategic player to boost Oman In- Country Value.
instOG – To complement TPO mid-and down-stream initiative, Takatuf partnered with Schlumberger in a joint venture to create instOG, an institute that will raise the technical skills of Omani petro technical professionals in the upstream oil and gas sector and will further enable Oman to continue to be competitive regionally and globally.
It will be located in the Innovation Park Muscat and will accommodate a total of 300 students. It’s planned to become operational in 2017.
The pedagogical goal is to have structured long term career development programmes for petro technical professions including classroom and on- job training, online courses and competency management in the disciplines of: geology, geophysics, petro physics, reservoir engineers, drilling professionals and production engineers.
